Peanut Butter Knife Fight

Last weekend we went over to the Island for the Peanut Butter Knife Fight, a.k.a. Jordies Jump Jam. Jordie’s been playing with a Bob Cat all winter and has sculptured his yard into a dirt playground, a serious piece of art. There is a pumptrack, hips, jumps, berms, jibs, wallrides, a buried car-all transferable and inter-connected. It is amazing! After riding for a bit, the Claw and I had judging duty and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. The boys were throwing it down.

Results:
1st Ryder Casprick
2nd Jordie Lunn
3rd Graham Agassiz

It happened to be my birthday that same day so the festivities ended up continuing far into the night as we all ended up at the Rod and Gun for a bit of a party. Lets just say I have whip lash not from riding my bike but from rocking out a little too hard. Oops.

After spending my entire winter in Southern California shredding the sand dunes, I am happy to be back at home in Whistler even if it is only for a week and a half. I went for a wet and muddy XC ride the other day and was stoked to shred some roots and rocks for a change! But I’m sure I will have enough of that in Europe as I am heading there in a couple days to race the Maribor, Andorra and Ft. William World Cups and the World Championships in Italy.

In between those races I am going to be pretending I am Jaque Cousteau exploring the French Alps! We will be based out of a little Chalet called Chalet JoJo in a small village within the Portes du Soleil ski domain.

Wish me luck and a Bon Voyage!

Claire.
