CLAIRE ROCKS THE TOP 10 AT M.S.A.

Claire nailed her best ever World Cup result at Mount Saint Anne with 6th place finish, making her the top Canadian Dh’er. “It is a really, really physical long track. You have to try to relax and hang on. There are some harder ruts now that it has dried out but most of them are avoidable. The weather has done us a favour. The course is faster and it’s shorter. It’s just so physically demanding. It’s hard to ride your best when you’re so tired. It makes you want to stop and take a nap!”

Czech national DH championship – Bozi Dar

Last weekend I did another DH race of this season, national DH championship in Bozi Dar. It was great fun to ride DH bike again and I was enjoying it a lot. The course is pretty fast with few technical sections and is about 4 minutes long. During trainings on Friday and Saturday it was raining so the track was even more technical. Luckily on Sunday the weather was good and we were riding on the dry course.

Sunday afternoon was the race time. Weather was nice and there were lot of spectators cheering and making great atmosphere on the track. My run was pretty good and I was having lot of fun on the bike. When I crossed the finish line I was on the first place but there were still 2 guys coming. Finally I finished on the 2nd place just 0,5 sec. behind Czech best DH rider Adam Vagner.

At the moment I´m already in Canada getting ready for another fourcross World cups in Mont Saint Anne and next week in Bromont.

Fourcross race in Malmedy – Belgium

Last weekend I did another trip to Belgium for a fourcross race in Malmedy. It was pretty cool to come to Belgium again as I like the country and it looks like that fourcross is getting bigger there this year. The course in Malmedy was designed by Phil Saxena and it was the longest fourcross I ever did. The times in qualification were over 1 minute, so it was almost as a short DH race.

During whole weekend it was raining but luckily for us the course was still in a good shape and we were able to jump all jumps and rode pretty fast. Also the atmosphere was pretty good as there were quite a lot of people cheering during the race.

In qualification I had really good run and finished on the first place. In the race I won all my heats and got into the final. I had great start and lead the run all the way down and win the race in Malmedy.

1st place Kamil Tatarkovic
2nd place Joost Wichman
3rd place Daniel Prijkel
