Although the Bromont World Cup track was a lot shorter than the MSA track, it was still a tough one. The weather played a big role in that as it didn’t seem to want to stop monsooning. There were a few crazy thunderstorms, one that delayed practice for a bit the first day.
As soon as I walked the track, I knew there was a chance I could do well. There were a lot of big jumps on the track and some really technical sections made extra slippery with mud. I knew if I practiced smart, prepared my bike well and stayed strong, I could post another good result. I finished 6th again and I am very happy with that.
My goal for the season was to get into the top ten and for the first 3 World Cups, I came 11th!!! Three times!!! I was just shy of my goal. Now I have proved that I can do it and that it isn’t just a fluke!
So now I am back in Whistler coaching adult week for the Summer Gravity Camps. The weather is good and our friends from the circuit are arriving in town for Crankworx so it’s going to be good fun. It’s Neethlings birthday tonight so I’m sure there will be some sort of debauchery going on in the village…..
Later.
Claire.
