Watts Colorado Crankworx Update

Hey everyone. This is Greg Watts giving you an update on crankworx Colorado. This was my first time attending crankworx Colorado, But having seen the videos from the previous year, It was promised to be an awesome slopestyle. The contest took place at winter park resort, Colorado, Which is at over 9000 feet of elevation! Riding the course was brutal not just because of the features on the course, but because the air is so thin, you were wiped out after a couple runs. The course was great though. John cowan and his building team built a fun course for all riding types. After a full day of practice, there was qualifying. I had no problem qualifying with just a safety run, but there were a ton of huckers trying to get into the finals. Because crankworx  Colorado is a qualifier for the real one in whistler, the lesser known riders really tried and some of them made it. A lot of them crashed out though, But it was still entertaining to watch. The next day was the best trick comp. Best trick Has been my specialty for a long time because I get bored with traditional tricks and I want to expand on them. It was a 45 minute jam session and whoever threw the sickest trick won $2000! I was the first one to drop in just to make sure I got as many chances as I can. The competition was close, But I ended up winning with a flip double barspin! The next day was the finals. Everything was going great. The first few riders dropped in and did their runs, and as I was about to roll in, They called a hold on the course! Thunder and lightning along with rain moved in on the course and delayed my run for over an hour. I was a little bummed by it, but it didn’t really affect my run. I landed my solid run after the rain and ended up 8th. I was happy with my performance because the competition was fierce, and I wanted to save my best riding for the real Crankworx. Hopefully ill bring back more good news from Whistler!! See ya.
