Last weekend I did another DH race of this season, national DH championship in Bozi Dar. It was great fun to ride DH bike again and I was enjoying it a lot. The course is pretty fast with few technical sections and is about 4 minutes long. During trainings on Friday and Saturday it was raining so the track was even more technical. Luckily on Sunday the weather was good and we were riding on the dry course.

Sunday afternoon was the race time. Weather was nice and there were lot of spectators cheering and making great atmosphere on the track. My run was pretty good and I was having lot of fun on the bike. When I crossed the finish line I was on the first place but there were still 2 guys coming. Finally I finished on the 2nd place just 0,5 sec. behind Czech best DH rider Adam Vagner.

At the moment I´m already in Canada getting ready for another fourcross World cups in Mont Saint Anne and next week in Bromont.

Last weekend I did another trip to Belgium for a fourcross race in Malmedy. It was pretty cool to come to Belgium again as I like the country and it looks like that fourcross is getting bigger there this year. The course in Malmedy was designed by Phil Saxena and it was the longest fourcross I ever did. The times in qualification were over 1 minute, so it was almost as a short DH race.

During whole weekend it was raining but luckily for us the course was still in a good shape and we were able to jump all jumps and rode pretty fast. Also the atmosphere was pretty good as there were quite a lot of people cheering during the race.

In qualification I had really good run and finished on the first place. In the race I won all my heats and got into the final. I had great start and lead the run all the way down and win the race in Malmedy.

1st place Kamil Tatarkovic
2nd place Joost Wichman
3rd place Daniel Prijkel

I just had an awesome couple of weeks!! I just got back from filming in Kamloops for a week, But before that, I went to the Teva Mountain Games. The Teva Games Is a smaller slopestyle, but it is rapidly growing in popularity with riders such as Aaron Chase, Cameron Zink, Adam Hauck, Tyler Mccaul, Phil sunbaum, and many others. I have never been to Teva, so I was really excited because I heard the course is always super fun. But when the plane landed, It was raining!! Even with the rain, I couldnt wait to see the course, so I put on a waterproof jacket, and checked it out. It started out with a smaller drop into a good trick double followed by a wallride into another double. It ended with an on-off box into another jump. I was happy to see that the forecast was clear for the comp, and what a comp it was. everyone stepped up their game with consistent and crazy runs. The finals were even better with most of the people 360ing or tailwhipping the drops, and throwing their best tricks. I ended up 3rd with a couple of solid runs highlighted by a flip whip, a truck driver, 360s on the drop, and a flip barspin to x-up on the last one. Chase got 2nd and Hauck got 1st with an insane 720 on the last jump, and he was the only one to tailwhip the drop in finals.

Right after I got back from teva, It was off to Canada for filming. I am filming for this video called Barred for Life, and It is gonna be big. I have already done most of the filming for it, and it should surprise some people at the premiere at Interbike. The first stop was Jordie lunns house on vancouver Island. We rode some stuff he built as well as the jumps at his house. I watched him huck off this 25+ foot drop with a tiny landing and he stuck it clean hid first try!

Then it was off to Kamloops. This was my first time in Kamloops, and I instantly fell in love. The dirt is so easy to work with, and easy to crash on. We built some cool new lines and hit some already built ones too. I 360′d a 12 foot drop which was the biggest I have done yet, and flipwhipped a big step-up. Harooks was shooting photos, and got some epic shots. Look for them soon in the magazines. After we accomplished all we came there to do, it was time to go home and get some much needed rest.

I Just got back from a fun and exciting trip to Puerto Rico. I went there with some friends to do a dirt jump demo at this bike festival put on by Medalla Light. The last time I went to Puerto Rico, it was insanely hot and humid, so I was stoked that the weather was cool when I got off the plane. I went there with my friends Tyler McCaul, Alex Reveles, and Andrew Taylor, so it was more like a vacation. We got picked up by my friend, Pedro, who lives in San Juan and has a bunch of cool jumps and a foam pit. After showing us around town and checking out the night life of San Juan, we rode at Pedro’s house for a bit and practiced some tricks in the foam pit for the demo.

We then drove 3 hours to the other side of the island to a town called Rincon where the festival was held. We were immediately greeted by the locals with some beer and a super fun night life. What else would you expect from a festival that is put on by a beer company? The next day we spent some time at the beach and checked out the town before practicing on the demo jumps. The jumps were fun, but it was just a straight 6 pack, so we didn’t really need to practice much before throwing down some sweet maneuvers! The next day was the demo, and the weather turned to be really hot, humid and windy. That didn’t stop us from putting on a great show. The crowd was pumped to see us jump through the set. The second demo was a bit better because the wind died down and everyone pulled out impressive tricks. After completing the demo and signing some autographs, we enjoyed the festival and the after party that followed. The next day we chilled on the beach for a bit before heading back to San Juan to catch a flight back home. The demo was cool, it was a pretty sweet deal to hang & ride with 3 of my friends. Puerto Rico was a super fun place!

I am definitely going back for a real vacation sometime.

Throughout the years of mountain biking, the progression has seen the unthinkable… over and over again. Ambassadors of the sport have lead packs of riders all over the world, proving time and time again that limits don’t exist on a mountain bike.

Within the most beautiful location in Western Canada, the heart of the Rockies, Creston, B.C, Goat Style Bike Festival has grown to a position of groundbreaking intensity. In past years this event has seen talented athletes war for the freeride glory, and has continued to provide witnesses with performances that leave them speechless.

As we come to Goat Style 2008, May 30th-June 2nd, once again, the bar has been raised. The support from sponsors like Kokanee, Spy Optics, Red Bull, Sombrio, Wynndel Box and Lumber, Home Builders, and many more, have allowed Goat Style to reach a level of respect and enthusiasm that riders can’t stop thinking about. Coming into this new year of Goat Style, riders will have the opportunity to display what they think is the best. Spectators from all over will have the chance to view what could be the best. Whether young, old, new or experienced, this years event will have an assortment of things to keep everyone busy and excited. From the huge Slopestyle event, to trials demos, concerts, d.j’s, play station playoffs, ride in at the movies, free stuff, displays of products within the industry and so much more, there will be no time for down time.

At the conclusion of last year’s Goat Style Bike Festival, Murray, plant manager of Kokanee Brewery, wrapped it up with this, “I’m calling this the Crankworx of the Kootenay’s”. From there, Goat Style became something bigger. Riders from all over North America were showing up for one reason, to ride, to have fun, to stand on top. Helicopters were flying around, filming what was to be an insane day of freeride mountain biking.

With Goat Style, it’s an open event for riders to ride. It doesn’t matter if you’re a big name or a no name. What matters, is what is going through your mind as you air off a feature within the park. What makes the difference, is how you throw down, how you stomp your trick. How you put every effort on the line. It’s about what you can do on a mountain bike. And at the end, the always-anticipated cash prize awaits the winners (along with various stellar prize packages). Goat Style has seen record-breaking tricks, first ever tricks, a caliber of riding that stands tall within the freeride mountain biking era. What we’re saying is that all ages are welcome; all levels of ability are encouraged to be there. We have a course for those who dream big, and we have a course for those who are living the dream. With junior/beginner runs, open–badass runs, there are no limits at Goat Style.

Imagination. Why not act on it? Ride hard, ride big, ride Goat Style, it’s where limits are shattered and progression is unstoppable.

Goat Style Bike Festival, Creston, B.C–May 30th-June 1st. Be a part of history.
